The event was great fun for our clients guests. As well as sampling the great products on offer, our clients guests were  put to the test of hitting the target with our mini crossbow stall to win a prize.

Our new inflatable fun run is an exhausting 50ft long of real obstacle challenges such as tunnels, squeeze throughs, biff n bash fields, rollers, under and over, holes in the wall and a climb to a 2.55 metre platform slide to exit. A real test of stamina, excellent for entertainment at your corporate event, fun days or fund raising events such as a school fete. The picture left shows the inflatable obstacle course out at it’s first event, just look at the sky what a fantastic day for March, the temperature reached a sweltering 26c.

The size of our new run is 50ft long x 15ft wide, we do need an area of 70ft x 20ft minimum to accommodate it comfortably. Suitable for both children’s and adult events makes this versatile inflatable a good addition for any event.

With our Enchanted Garden Princess Bouncy Castle or Fairytale Princess Bounce n Slide, your child’s dream party will be an enchanting experience for all the guests! Candy floss would be the perfect accompanying snack as you could make it a range of colours fitting to your theme. Here we will give you more hints and tips on what games and activities you could include at your princess themed party.

Invitations are easily made for princess themed parties. You could either cut pink card into a tiara or crown shape to write your invitation on, or write your invitation along the lines of “The King cordially invites you to the Royal celebration in honour of Princess/Prince _______’s birthday” and scroll up the invitation, tying it with coloured tinsel or ribbon.

Food is a vital part of any royal celebration, so make sure you have plenty! It is easy to theme the food in either a coloured way (e.g. a pink theme, so snacks such as pink smarties candy floss and cupcakes with pink icing will be served) or in a princess theme (e.g. sticky toffee apples could be named as ‘poison apples’).

Costumes are not limited to princess attire only! Other costume ideas include knights, jesters, heroes (such as Robin Hood), butlers, servants, fairies, witches, villains (such as the ugly stepsisters) and genies.

Decoration of the party area could include a cardboard castle, cut outs or posters of princesses and princes, banners, flags, ribbons, balloons, glitter, red carpets, fairy lights, roses or other flowers, a cardboard ’wishing well’, glass slippers (glittery high heels), ’poisoned’ apples, love letters from “princes” and much more.  Colour schemes can include pink, lavender, white, cream, baby blue, yellow, gold and silver. Red and grey are good colours for if you want a more medieval themed party (for example if some boys are attending).

Party games could include:

“Pin the kiss on the frog” – Simply print out a large picture of a frog/cartoon frog and also print enough picture of lips or a lipstick mark for each child at the party. Place the picture of the frog on a wall or post where there are no hazardous objects. Place a piece of double-sided sticky tape on the back of each of the lips pictures. Blindfold each child with a piece of cloth and give them one lips picture. Tell them to try and stick the lips as close to the Frog’s lips as possible. Either give a prize to each child at the end or award a prize to the children who placed their lips picture nearest to the frog’s mouth.

“Save the princess”- If you have both girls and boys at your party, you could dress someone up as a dragon and have the girls put on one side of the garden/room and boys on the other. The ‘dragon’ stands in the middle and the boys have to get past the dragon and holding one princesses hand, run with her back to the other side of the room in order to save her. The game ends when all the princesses are saved or if the game is taking too long. Prizes could be awarded to all the boys, or everyone.

“Bob for the poisoned apple”- Like the traditional game of bob for the apple, just fill a fairly shallow tray with flour or water and insert apples into the tray. If you have a tray of flour, try to cover the apples as much as possible. Get the children to take it in turns to try and pick the apples out of the tray with only their mouth. The ‘poisoned apple’ could have a piece of green ribbon tightly tied around the stalk. A prize could be awarded to all children, or one prize to the child who picked out the most apples and a special prize to the child who picked out the ‘poisoned apple’

“Find the Pea” – Get a green tennis or golf ball and hide it under a pillow in the room. Get a selection of other pillows or cushions and place them around the room. Ask the guests to dance around the room as the music plays and when the music stops, sit down on the nearest pillow. Play music and stop it at a random interval. When all the children are seated, ask them who thinks they have something under their pillow. When the child sitting on the pillow with the ‘pea’ under it presents the ‘pea‘, award them a prize. If no one sits on the pillow with the ‘pea’ underneath it, start the music again.

“Decorate the cupcake” – For a fun-filled activity, why not allow your guests to decorate their own cupcakes and then eat them? Make enough plain cupcakes for each guest and give them an array of pre-made coloured icing in bowls or tubes and some decorative sweets such as smarties, chocolate shavings, sprinkles or silver balls. This could be done with other foods such as iced buns, or you could alternatively get the children to decorate something else such as their party bag with glitter, stickers and colouring pens. For a competitive twist, you could get the adults to judge which is the ‘best’ cupcake or simply award a prize to all children.

If you do not want to buy parts of your child’s costume, costumes suitable for princess themed parties are easily and cheaply made.

If your child already owns a dress, it is easy to glue or sew on rhinestones or small jewels in order to make the dress look more ‘royal’. A ribbon tied around the waist of the dress also adds a lovely effect.

To make your own crown, simply take craft wire and circle it around the child’s head to make sure the crown will fit. Then take smaller lengths of craft wire and attach it to the circle, making several triangles which point upwards. Then glue card around the wire and simply spray paint it silver or gold. Adding some rhinestones or jewels to the top of the triangles and around the bottom of the crown, or adding cotton wool to the bottom and sticking small triangles of black card onto the cotton wool adds special royal effect.

If you want a sceptre, take a plastic or wooden rod and spray paint it gold or silver. Then take a polystyrene ball and stick it to the end. Cover it with tin foil and add rhinestones to the foil.

Capes for either knights or princesses can be made using velvet or silk material.

For the middle of the party, you could set up a room or area with a mirror as a pretend ‘salon’ and enlist the help of the adults or older guests to give the children some great prince/princess hairstyles. If you don’t mind a bit of a mess then glitter hairspray is the perfect way to add a little more magic! Then, if possible, you could make an older guest or adult dress up as a prince, royal butler, or princess and teach the children how to act and speak like true princes and princesses or tell them a fairytale story.

Leaving party bags and prizes could include: cupcakes, pieces of cake, princess shaped cookies (e.g. castles, hearts, wands), sweets, fairy wands, foam/plastic swords, tiaras, crowns, plastic jewellery, hand puppets, colouring books, make-up, glitter, witch hats or small toys.

Our spacious marquees are available as a 28ft x 28ft and 20ft x 30ft. Ideal for providing a cool shaded area for your guests and visitors to relax in or nibble on the buffet.

Our 28ft x 28ft marquee can comfortably accommodate  up to 40 seated or 53 standing guests, putting in tables for a buffet would reduce the standing area to around 45 guests. Our 20ft x 30ft size would seat up to 48 people or 60 standing, again installing tables for food would reduce the standing area to around 50 guests.

Our marquees are supplied with side walls that are easily removed if desired on hot summer days to allow a cool breeze to flow through, or just remove a couple to give the area an airy feel.

Our marquees do provide a waterproof area that can deal with winds up to 45 mph. Due to the anchorage system we can only install our marquees on a flat lawned area or field. These are unsuitable for a hard standing surface.

Our marquees are available for daily, weekend or extended hire.

Pirate theme:

‘Arrr, me swashbucklers! Everyone loves a good pirate story, from Captain Hook to Captain Jack Sparrow, there’s nothing more exciting than putting on your eye patch and sailing the seven seas. Pirate themed parties are a classic with children of all ages, but how do you go about making your party a success?

Of course our pirate bouncy castle is perfectly fitting for a pirate themed party, but here are some games and activities that will compliment the castle and ensure your little landlubber’s have a great time on-deck!

For larger parties consider our Peter’s Adventure bounce and slide bouncy castle for an alternative pirate themed inflatable

If you want to set the scene indoors, it is a wonderful idea to dress up the room as either a pirate ship or a desert island, with props such as treasure chests, inflatable parrots, palm trees, messages in bottles, plastic cannons and pirate flags!

A great party game to play with the children is ‘musical islands’, a sea lovers alternative to musical chairs. Simply cut out circular pieces of coloured card, or use place mats and decorate as necessary. Scatter them about the room, making sure you have one less ‘island’ than you have players. Turn on the pirates’ favourite music and let them dance about the room, circulating, until you turn the music off at random intervals. This is when the children are required to stand or sit on the nearest ‘island’ as quickly as possible. Any child left without an island is taken out of the game. Take out another island for the next round and start the music again. The winner is the last player who is left on an island and is still in the game.

Another game is ‘Captain says’, the alternative to ‘Simon says’. A child or adult is selected to be the “Captain” of the crew and stands at the front with the other children facing him/her. The “Captain” gives commands, such as “Captain says put your hands on your knees” and they demonstrate the action and the other children are supposed to follow this action. However, if a command does not start with the words “Captain says”, such as “jump up and down” the children are supposed to ignore the command. If a child follows the command after a command which does not start with “Captain says”, then they are out of the game. Actions can be implemented to fit the pirate theme such as “Climb the rigging’s”.

A treasure trail is the absolutely perfect game for a pirate themed party. Simply hide either a treasure chest full of ‘booty’ (sweets or toys) or smaller prizes around the location of your party as well as a trail of clues as to where the next prize or the next clue is (e.g. ‘its where the pirates’ mums wash their stinky sea socks!’ – the next clue would be in the room where the washing machine was kept). Present the children with the first ‘clue’ which will lead them onto the second. Make sure the clues successfully lead to the final prize before the date of the party and watch the kids search for their loved treasure!

You can buy from a nice range of pirate themed plastic cutlery from your local supermarket that is sure to amuse the kids and you could make ‘pirate themed’ food choices such as “cannon balls and ropes” (Spaghetti and meatballs) or “pirate’s rum” (a dark coloured fizzy drink such as cola) or “golden nuggets” (chicken nuggets). For pirate ship hot dogs, just put a hot dog in a hot dog bun and insert a cocktail stick with a flag shaped piece of paper attached to the top into the hot dog. It is also a good idea to cut food such as sandwiches into fish shapes or star shapes to represent the sea.

If you do not want to buy a costume, here are some great ideas on how to make your own:

For Pirate’s trousers, you can use old jogging bottoms and cut them with scissors jaggedly at the bottom of the trouser legs at the knee. For tops, stripy t-shirts are ideal and you can tie a scarf around the child’s head to act as a bandana. If you own a red piece of material such as a scarf, you can tie this round the child’s waist. It is easy to make a pirate’s hat out of newspaper and simply draw on a skull and crossbones for the pirate effect. Then all you need is cheaply bought added accessories such as an inflatable parrot from your local toy shop to sit on their shoulders, an eye patch or rub-on pirate tattoos.

If you do not want to buy eye patches, simply cut out an oval of black cardboard and use a hot glue gun or sticky tape to attach a string of black elastic long enough so that it can fit comfortably around the child’s head.

If your child does not wish to wear a bandanna or hat, then the pirate look is easily achieved by messing up their hair a little to give the rough sea dog look!

All children love face paints. We can provide a great face painting service to create some fantastic pirate faces to enhance the children’s enjoyment at the party.

Remember that pirates usually wear the colours red, beige, black and cream. Keeping to this colour theme will make the costume all the more authentic.

Bursting cannonballs! This is a perfect game for children. Make the children get into two teams, or arrange the teams yourself. All you need is to buy some black coloured balloons and get the children to run around (one team plays first, then the other), trying to burst as many balloons as possible by sitting on them. Give each team an equal number of balloons to pop in the same time frame (e.g. both teams have 60 seconds to pop 20 balloons). The winning team is the one who pops the most balloons in the given time frame.

Fitting music for the occasion, whether its used for playing games or simply for background noise, are old pirate songs or songs linked with pirates such as the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack.

For all children, the costume theme does not have to be limited to pirates if you want to widen the opportunities. Girls could come as mermaids and boys who do not wish to be pirates could come as sailors. Therefore the party is fun for everyone who loves the sea!

At the end of the party, it could be a good idea to give your guests a parting party bag, filled with pirate’s treasure such as chocolate coins, an eye patch, a toy parrot, pirate stickers, small treasure maps, bubbles, skull and crossbones balloons or Pirate themed DVDs.
